Thank you so much for supplying cards for soldiers. My husband is in Iraq for the 4th time and he has been sending cards every couple of weeks to our daughter (6 years old) and it just makes her day. I even get the occasional card as well. On behalf of him and myself, thanks!!
I cannot thank you enough for the opportunity to use these beautifully handmade cards to reach my loved ones at home. Thank you!
I was stationed at XXX and now have moved to this office in northern Iraq. I have an office with 20 members from all branches of the military. We all would love to continue receiving your cards if at all possible. Please and you're appreciated!
Thanks for all the cards! All the shipments have gone over fairly well. All the cards don't get taken but about 75% of them do.
We are rotating out soon so our last box will probably last the rest of the deployment. We really do appreciate it all and they've gone over well with my family and friends back home. Take good care!
We just received the box of spring cards! Thank you so much to you and all
of the other volunteers! With Mother's Day just around the corner, all of
our Soldiers are writing away to all of the special women in their lives
thanks to your support. God bless and thank you again!
OMG, thank you so much for the huge box of cards. They are so beautiful and I am sharing with my unit (although I want to keep them all for myself). Everyone is enjoying them and the mothers day cards are perfect timing…how thoughtful. I would say we probably already took 50 cards out already (just got today)and I am mailing 4 myself today. My kids are going to love this. Thank you so much for this awesome program.
Just wanted to thank Operation Write Home for what you do! I've been enjoying all the cards my wife has been sending me home. Some have made me laugh, some have made me cry but mostly they put a smile on my face when I see one in my mail box! So thank you from the bottom of my heart! Your hard work is appreciated!!! :)

Got the box today thank you! We aren't switched out yet but the new guys are here and I back briefed them on what you guys do and how much you have helped us out. I am going to include his email in this as well.
Also I like the honesty about the percoset kicking in*...lol After my surgery I had many a times I would write an email and it would be kicking in. Oh also, lemme know if ya need a security element to do route clearance for your scooter, want your roadways safe ;)
I must get going but I will talk to you soon! Thanks again for helping us out so much. I truly appreciate it.
*The letter that went into his box was written just days after Sandy had surgery....spelling and handwriting were quite atrocious! lol!
I just wanted to write and thank you so much for sending the box of cards and hero mail to my son’s unit so quickly.
They’ve already dug into them and he says that each unit member has already taken cards to write home. They just love themJ My son says there is already a card on its way home to meJ
It is so awesome to not only make cards for the soldiers, but to know that my son is on the other end helping them to get distributed. I feel so wonderful knowing that I’m a part of making his and his unit’s world just a little bit warmer while they are there.
I am so grateful to OWH and all the women and men who make this possible. God bless you all,
Thank you very much for taking the time to ship the Operation Write Home cards to deployed Service Members. I will definitely let you know when I receive the box. I plan to share the cards with the other Soldiers and Airmen in my office. And if they like the cards as much I do, I will give them the URL for your site. Additionally, if the Hero mail has return addresses on them, I will write thank notes to the "grateful Americans" who wrote the letters. Thank you again. Have a great weekend.
We just wanted to drop you a note at Operation Write Home to say thanks for all you do! Everyone loves the cards and the time put into each card makes them extra special. I would much rather send one of these cards home over a store bought card. We really appreciate the time and effort that goes into this organization. Many thanks from a grateful office!
Thanks for sending a box to us here in Kandahar. They are well appreciated and are a wonderful means for us to share something personal other than an email with our families back home. Unfortunately, I didn’t know about this program with my other deployments and am looking forward to helping out when I return. Knowing I would have to choose from a scarce selection of cards, I had sent a bunch of cards I had lying around the house to myself (store bought/Hallmark), but I find myself gravitating to the personal, homemade ones that have been donated to us. Thank you again.
I got the second box of cards today, and was very pleased that there are some Mother's Day cards in there - I haven't been able to talk to my mom since I deployed in November, so I'm thrilled that I can send her a nice card. Our chaplain took what was left of the last box of cards and put them where the folks going to church could pick through them, so we spread the happiness far and wide. I plan to put this next box in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) tent where the Soldiers go to call home or use the computer, or watch movies. I think the response will be just as enthusiastic as last time. Again, thanks so much for supporting us, and I hope that all is well for you there in Kansas.
Thank you for the new box of cards! This is a great organization and our unit really enjoys picking out cards from such a great selection.
I have been here for nearly two months and time is going fast. Thank you so much for the opportunity to better stay in contact with friends and family back home! Thank you for thinking of us!
I just wanted to say thank you for the huge box of cards you sent us. I honestly cannot believe how the guys snatch them up. We have tried to ration them, but it is a lost cause, and honestly I figure there is a plan for everything. Those soldiers are supposed to have those cards to write home. I put the last 60 out this morning.
I just wanted to let you know how it warms my heart when I take a huge handful to the post office every morning. I knew you would want to know.
They are beautiful and we are very grateful!

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the wonderful box full of cards for the Operation Write Home Program. We love the cards and everyone wants to look through the box right away! :-) We also enjoyed the letters from school children and others thanking everyone for their service.
One of the new ladies in the office commented on how the cards make her miss scrapbooking. She loves cards and has gathered quite a few to mail back to friends and family. She wanted me to pass along her personal thanks to your group.
I am writing to thank you for the box of cards that came to our office last month.
It was amazing to see the smiles on the faces of Soldiers as they came to pick out cards for friends and family. This is the sort of gift that really gives well beyond the initial recipient. The amount of joy that the Soldier has in picking the card and writing the letter, is likely matched or exceeded by the lucky recipient of that card.
Since we are a medical team, we see many folks in need of care. Our supply of cards was gone in a week due to the heavy traffic in our area, but I know they definitely contributed to people feeling better, both about themselves, and about their ability to connect with home.
Knowing someone back in the states took the time to hand make these cards is HUGE!! What a wonderful outreach! Thank you again for your support. We will be here another 8 months and will ensure that any additional shipments of cards get right into the hands of Soldiers who will benefit.*

This first card has a vintage look; the flowers were stamped with Memento, colored with Copics, and the panel was distressed with Ranger inks. The background paper was stamped in Versafine Sepia ink, then distressed as well, along with the sentiment.
This next card has a totally different look - who doesn't like purple in spring! The ink for the entire card was Colorbox Chalk Wisteria, and the background stamp is the same as the woodcut flowers above. The sentiment is from another Stampers Best set, Someone Special.
The next stop on the hop is our fearless leader Sandy at A Colourful World - go see what she has in store for you. And don't forget to bookmark the Stampers Best sale - take a hopping break and go shopping :)
I am Chaplain L. I am the Camp Patriot Chaplain. I am writing to say thanks to you and the children who sent us a box of love! Your kindness is much appreciated and the letters and items have been made available to our service members. Please pass on our thanks to the students. Thank you.
I just received your Spring/Easter cards and they are AWESOME!! Thank you so much! I will be heading back to the states in about 2 and a half weeks. I plan on handing this program over to my replacement and giving her your information. It has been wonderful working with you while I've been over here.
Thank you for everything!
