I Am Currently a Hero...

Your cards could not have come at a better time. Deliveries to our military
store are few and far between and there are not any Valentine's cards or any
other cards for that matter. The unit (35 US Air Force personnel) has
already been through your box and are very grateful and I am currently a
hero, but all the credit goes to you and Operation Write Home.

Thank you for your time and support of the military.

Sincerely,

D.V.
AirForce, Iraq

Thank you so much for taking the time

I recently received quite a bit of cards and I wanted to let you know that we all really appreciate and have enjoyed the cards. You all did an awesome job creating them. They are so beautiful and gives a great picture of what one is wanting to express.

Thank you so much for taking the time to create these beautiful cards. We are truly grateful.

Appreciation for your Valentines cards

Dear Operation Write Home,
On behalf of the Camp Arifjan American Red Cross and the ASG-KU Command, we wish to extend our grateful appreciation for your Valentines cards for our troops to write home. The time and effort that goes into the making of these handmade cards means so much to our troops.
The American Red Cross office here provides a location where service men and women can relax, enjoy candy and snacks, watch DVDs/videos, browse the paperback book and magazine collections, listen to music, play games, put puzzles together, or watch TV. We also provide popcorn, hot drinks, playing cards. we even bake homemade bread here to bring a little taste of home.
We help keep the American people in touch with their family members serving in the U.S. military. We locate and notify military personnel of births, deaths, and other family emergencies and assist in getting the service member home during times of crisis.
The Camp Arifjan "Oasis" is available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week for emergency communications. Frequently, service members will visit our office just to rest and talk. During these visits we share your hospitality and gifts.
Again, we thank you for showing your concern and support. We couldn't do what we do without your support!
Sincerely,
Team 20, The Musketeers

Timing is as they say "everything"

Hi Sandy,
Just wanted to drop a note and let you know that I received the latest box! Thanks so much, I had a few folks asking this week if we were going to get another one soon, so timing is as they say "everything". The folks here have really enjoyed getting them.

We've also had a turnover in military so now the "newbie's" can experience Operation Write Home.

I also had a request to send a box to our North office and South office, as soon as I get those addresses I'll let you know.

I am anxious to get home and start making my own cards for OWH, but I don't know when that will be. With the job market so bad at home, I may be here until September 2011, but I'll keep you posted.

Scratch Ciara on the head for me!

Thanks again....
G.P.

It was a perfect amount!

Sandy,

Thank you for the box of cards! I put them out when I returned from R&R on the 17th and there are only 10 left today; it was a perfect amount! We put them out on our table and had a few guys actually sit there and write them out... unfortunately, I didn't have my camera to shoot a photo. =( I'll make
sure to get you some photos next time.

Thanks for all you do!

I look forward to staying in touch with you

Since the beginning of the New Year, I have reflected upon the past year and remembered those who have helped make our deployment special. I truly value the friendships that I have made with the Polish Soldiers and the opportunity to make the acquaintance of so many generous people in the U.S. Being part of a Polish-American Christmas has made my tour in Afghanistan special and I look forward to staying in touch with you. I wish you joy and prosperity in the New Year!

I am so impressed by the cards that you sent from Operation Write Home. What a blessing. Our Soldiers here ... want to say THANK YOU so much. These cards will mean a lot to our families. I can't wait to start sending some out. Please excuse me for sending a card from the internet, but I wanted you to know right away that we received the cards...If you continue to have cards, we would be lucky to receive your fine O.W.H. cards.

Your cards are touching, warm, and relevant to our lives - their fine quality and hand made care, help make a difference in keeping our relationships strong. Thank you with all my heart.

Received several of your Operation Write Home cards

My name is Becky Mizener. I am the founder and CEO of Packed with Pride. We send packages to our deployed military. We started this operation after we lost our son in Baghdad, Iraq in 2004. We have shipped out thousands of packages. We don't require that our soldiers send us a thank you card but every once in a while we do get a thank you card. I just wanted to let you know that we have received several of your Operation Write Home cards. I use to make my own greeting cards so I know all the work that goes into making one of these cards. I just want you to know they are so very appreciated. We try to send thank you cards, birthday cards, and holiday cards in our boxes as well. What you do is wonderful. As a mother of a soldier I want to thank you. As a supporter of our troops I want to thank you. As a non profit we thank you for your work.....Becky

Right after I ran out, our unit recieved two big boxes of cards

Hi,
Unfortunately, I can't access the blog so I thought I'd send an email to thank you all for helping us write home. I brought some construction paper and markers to make my own cards, but ran out months ago. Right after I ran out, our unit recieved two big boxes of cards. I've used about 15 of them so far. Thank you so much! They are great/beautiful/creative and make it so easy to write home.

USO in Kandahar

The box made it today and they are beautiful cards, as always. We will start tonight with a card writing station here at the USO and get pictures of the men and women writing home to their love one. Postage gets home from here pretty fast for the region we live in, but the 14th is coming up soon, so we'll get moving quickly and get all these cards out.

No access to email or phones...

I received this card on January 13:

Thank you for all the time you put into this box of cards! All the guys love it since we do not have access to email or phones. We are very lucky there are people like yourself out there! Thank you again. I received the box on October 29th, not too bad. Only 16 days. I'm putting this card in the box today.

Thank you again,

He purposely picks the pink and purple cards to send to me

I want to thank your organization for the all the thought and effort that goes into each and every homemade card.  My husband is currently in Afghanistan serving a 7 month deployment.  We recently got married and had 1 month together before he was deployed.  I can't express how much I like hearing from him and on such beautiful cards!  He is a pilot for the F15E fighter jet and I think its hilarious the way he purposely picks the pink and purple cards to send to me! I  have the cards on display around my house to remind me that other people love and support our troops just as much as I do.

I cannot adequately express my gratitude

Dear Sandy,
Thank you for all your support and the packages of Christmas goodies and cards. I cannot adequately express my gratitude for all you and your volunteers have done. You have had a tremendous effect on the morale of the troops here. May the New Year bring you peace.
Fr B.K.

Thanks from Husband and Wife!

Dixie, Thank you so much for always thinking of John and his soldiers but this will probably be the last box you should send them...I want to thank you for everything you and your wonderful organization has done for our unit. God bless you all. We cannot even begin to express the depth of how much all your work touches not only the soldiers but our families who receive those cards filled with loving words and sentiments from our loved ones so far away. It is now your mission to take care of those that will follow us. You have walked this entire journey with us and we can't begin to explain how much your support has kept both family and soldier connected in a way that is otherwise impossible.
I would like to ask if it is ok that the next time we deploy that we can contact you. God bless you, your wonderful organization and the mission you carry out with such love.
