Memorial Day Bloghop: SuperAnyHero cards!

This hop brings us a special card from SPC M.B. in Afghanistan...he created this one on his computer. How perfect for AnyHero letters! (This was printed out here stateside for the photo!)

This Specialist said he saw a Captain America pog, pictured, and figured he'd answer it with his card design. Cool!  If you want to know more about this "Pog" - see this article, but here's a quick excerpt:
... AAFES [Army Air Force Exchange Services] has been using pogs – 1.5-inch polystyrene discs, for those who don't recall the 90's fad – as currency on military bases in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001. Putting Marvel super heroes on the pogs in June 2008 simply made the program a little bit cooler.

"We can't print money," said Dr. Jim Skibo, VP of Marketing and Advertising for the AAFES. "[And] we will not ship coinage into the warzone. It costs a small fortune to ship stuff like that, so we use [the pogs] as gift certificates."
This hero was inspired to also make a 2nd card....awesome job!

freebie

I salute you SPC M.B. for the job you are working serving your country and for the outstanding job of making this card. What an honor to be able to print it. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. My Daddy, my husband and my oldest son have all served this country and I am so excited about making cards for OWH. To know that I too can do something to make one of you have a special moment, that makes me sparkle inside. I love it.

I have never made a card, but happened on this blog hop and am so excited about making some cards. I have been homebound for a month and was given an additional 2 weeks on Friday. I have been ill with lung issues and chronic asthma, hospitalized for 8 days so needed something that I could do from my recliner. I cannot be outside. You all have given me something to make myself useful. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I am Country Wings and I have signed up to follow your blog. I would love for you to stop by and say hi, and would be so honored if you signed up to follow my blog as well.

I have 2 sons and 4 grandsons (the 4th is on his way) and they all love Super Heroes. I am so thrilled to see that you were able to use Captain America and his buddies. How exciting.

Thank you for sharing. I so look forward to hearing from you. God Bless you on this upcoming Memorial Day. I will be keeping you in my prayers.

Country hugs...Sherry

I did a double take when I saw the word "pog" on this blog! I think it's kinda funny that the fad is being kept alive for practical purposes! Wonder how many heroes using those pogs as currency now actually played with pogs as kids! I love that you took time to make these cards, they're wonderful!
