Knowing that we are not forgotten

A card from a soldier in Iraq, dated 29 April 09:

I wanted to thank you for the cards you sent to me. Knowing that we are not forgotten makes being here so much easier! I am married with a brand new baby boy. He was born in March. I will be able to see him in August for the first time. He is my first so I am very excited about seeing him. I am due home for good on or about the first of the year. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We will handle things on our end. Keep in touch.

Thanks,

SPC B.

Thank you so much for these amazing cards!

From a soldier in Afghanistan, dated 18 April 09:

Thank you so much for these amazing cards! We have people all over Afghanistan in many places that don't have any place to buy cards (and if they do, they're always a holiday behind...). They always brighten everyone's days!

Thanks for all ya'll do!

I've gone every week to pick out a few cards

An email from a soldier in Iraq:

Your cards are absolutely beautiful. I first found them at the chapel. Since then, I've gone every week to pick out a few cards and send a little note home. It has really made a difference to be able to have something lovely to send home!

It's people like you that we draw strength from

An email from a Marine in Iraq, dated 14 April 09:

I received them today and have already begun handing them out to the Marines here in the unit. I must say, they are going over very well with the guys. If there is anyway to send our thanks to the wonderful people involved who put this all together, please do so for us. We love them!

Yes, if it is not too much to ask for, I would like another box for father's day. The Marines here say they would definitely utilize them. There is so much detail put into these cards, there so much better than the cheap ones we have to buy here in the store. It's people like you that we draw strength from while far from home. I can't thank you all enough for the kindness of your gifts to our Marines. Have a great day Sandy and thank you all again on behalf of the Marines here in Al Asad, Iraq.

Respectfully,

1stSgt H.

Thank You for what you do

From a Marine in Djibouti, dated 10 April 09:

Thank You for what you do for those of us that are deployed. You and your organization is what brings the smiles on our faces and those to our family, friends and loved ones.

The troops love your cards, they are very creative!

Email from a soldier in Iraq, dated 10 April 09:

Things here are busy as ever! Which is a great thing, Easter is almost here, and your Easter cards that you sent us are pretty much depleted! As chaplain assistant, and it being Easter this is a very busy time of year! But it shows the Lord's love that nothing else could even come close to, so what an opportunity to make that light shine! My fiancé just got home, back in March. He is stationed at Ft. Hood, and we will wed, Nov. 14, 2009. I can't wait and I am couting down the days!!! Let's see I think it is 164 till we go home, and about 220 some till our wedding day, hahahaha no Im not counting!! He is also a chaplain assistant, which is how we met 5 years ago. It looked like you had quite a handful there yourself, with your little helpers!* They were adorable, I love dogs and cats!

The troops love your cards, they are very creative! If I could please request more of these cards from you all that would be wonderful! People are already asking for mothers day, fathers day and fourth of July cards...

Well, I hope all is well for you there at home, thank-you for bringing me and the other troops into your arms of care, it means so much to all of us!

Well, Have a great Easter, and God Bless.

Sincerely,

SGT K.H.

*had sent her photos of shipper's pets "helping" sort cards!

Thank you for your care and generosity

From a soldier in Kuwait, dated 07 April 09:

Thank you so much for the lovely cards. My soldiers are sending them to their families as we speak. I too am enjoying them very much. We are doing well out here. Luckily we will be going home soon. I can't wait. Hopefully, the process of leaving will occupy much of our time and make the days go by faster. Again thank you for your care and generosity.

Sincerely,

1Lt N.D.

All I can say is WOW!

From an Airman in Afghanistan, dated 5 April 09:

I received your cards today. What a great idea, thank you! There are a few cards for us to purchase here but they run out so fast it is hard to get one especially one that fits. Now more people will have a chance to send a card home and personalize it for Mother's day or use some of the other ones for other occasions. I've made a few of these cards before so I have an idea of how long this took your group to make and all I can say is WOW! These cards will be put to good use. Have a great day and thank you.

Sincerely,

M.J.

Loved ones back home look for our letters and cards

From a soldier in Kuwait, dated 1 April 09:

I cannot express in words how much this box of handmade greeting cards blessed our soldiers. We are a battalion of about 400 - and these cards were swept up in about an hour. So many wonderful comments and appreciation for the styles, craftsmanship, and talents. Letter writing and sending cards has even become more important than email over here. We have gotten so computer compliant that the personal touch has disappeared. Being deployed gives a new perspective to staying in touch. Loved ones back home look for our letters and cards, expecting and waiting on the mail man again. For me - my eyes tear up when I see a handwritten letter or card from my fiancee - his handwriting is such a comfort. For that we thank you - without your help we couldn't afford to purchase the cards to send home, plus this gives us a variety to choose something special. Some are so pretty you just want to frame them!
God Bless -
S.D.
